Got out of work a little early today.(Rained all day....soaked to the bone)
Anyway..I grabbed a hot coffee, cranked up the heat and the jams and took the scenic route home.As I was passing a large section of park property, I noticed an area that looked like a possible cellar hole set back in the woods. With about two hours til dark I parked my truck and set out to do some swingin.I found the remnants of a stone foundation and started working the back yard area.Started hitting targets right away.Alot of old trash but some goodies too.The rain subsided and although the ground was mucky, I really had a ball.Found a handfull of wheaties,a couple of toys, and lots of "interesting relics"!My hunt was cut a little short when I noticed some activity out and around my truck.....The Police. As I walked out ,I had to forewarn the cop about my concealed weapon....the Hubley Trooper. As it turns out , someone had called in a report that I was hunting on park property.I showed him that I had a permit to detect in the county parks and he was on his way....no problem. Most of the finds dont seem to date back as old as the foundation but I really didnt hunt it that hard. If the weather holds out Ill give it another try next week....maybe Ill find some older stuff. The button in the last pic, I found a couple weeks ago in a heavily hunted area. Its my first flat button so I thought Id post it .Thanks for visiting and the best of luck to all....Happy Holidays....Joe
