I have the housing, battery housing and the battery pack for a Whites MX5, it seems to work just fine. I tested it with a coil and it worked as it should. All the buttons and functions do what they are suppose to. The only thing I did noticed was, if you shake it hard, it sounds like EMI is happening. When I had it mounted on a coil and had it sitting still, it worked normally. The housing is in very good condition. I'm not sure how to price it, so, I'll start at $50 and go from here. My e-mail is [email protected] and my cell is 575-921-6511, thanks for looking.

I have an MX5 and I'm wondering how you came to acquire just these pieces? I'm not sure what value it would be without a shaft.. The MX5 is a very good machine with the 5.3" coil, but does not do well with EMI in the house or around power lines at all. Did you try it outside away from the house the EMI will likely go away. I turn mine on in the house sometimes to check the VDI on a target and I have to turn the SENS down to about 1 or 2 bars.

If you could find a shaft you could probably get it sold quick. (Not sure if the Mars universal shaft would work?)

I bought the complete MX5 from a guy who was thinning out machines. I needed the shaft for another project and have no need for the rest of it. I did notice I had to drop sensitivity way down while in the house.
