I freaked when I dug my first "Spanish " coin two years ago. Later I noticed it said "copy" and was ticked! So far this year, I have dug 2 more. I am more skeptical about all of my finds now until verified. I just to warn those of you who may find your "treasure ". Someday I hope to find old gold or silver!

People think its funny to throw them out in the sand for someone to dig up. just more beach litter.

I'll still take one over a crusty zinc cent.....

I've dug a few of these and yes, it's a bit of a let-down.
But be sure to test it and/or do a bit of research. Some are made of sterling or coin silver (especially if mounted as jewelry or having a tiny loop soldered to them).

Found several fake reales and a fake pine tree shilling which really looked authentic but a dealer said was counterfeit.

Treasure hunting is all about being let down till you finally score and then it becomes an addiction. Good luck to you in finding gold and silver. Some of this look real.

strick

I found a repro Netherlands daalder. It's the size of silver dollar. These were never marked copy so It gave me a thrill for awhile.

After watching the frustration of some folks on in their videos I suspect you are being taunted on purpose lol.

Yea...for someone like me who has never found anything older than 1875...It would be such a feeling a disappointment finding out its a modern copy. Hell, when i find a silver half my heart gets to racing...I could only imagine finding something from that age
