Found this attached to the top rim of a broken fruit/mason jar today. Vaguely looks familiar but am not entirely sure exactly what it is and was used for. Hopefully somebody out there knows. Thanks. IMG_5833.webpIMG_5855.webp

I'm guessing some sort of holder, such as what might come from a BBQ grill. I've seen wire setups for holding tin cans and such. Maybe this is from an older grill?

Possibly a grease trap drain holder for mason jar from a grill.

I believe it came from an old kerosene cook stove. It held a large jar but I can't remember why.

Was suggested that it might be an old fruit strainer for the top of a mason/fruit jar. Have found many fruit/mason jars, glass and metal lids, and the like in the area circa 1800s-1900s.
