Went out this morning at daybreak. It was 33 degrees and the ground had a heavy frost. Oh well..winter's finally here :'( . Had a few finds. One nice coat button and some other odds and ends. Found 2 coins: one was a 1945 one pfenning with a swastika. I was pretty surprised to see this coin as I figured all the metal would be used for the war effort. The other coin was a common 50 pfenning from the early 20's. Hope all is well. Stay warm and HH.

Awesome finds!! What are the artifacts in the last pic?

I got out today, ground was not frozen but there was like a crust of ice over it :-\ only managed to find some rusty metal and a shotgun shell, guess the season is coming to an end :'(

Hey Birdman, nice finds. My season ended today. Ground is getting quite hard and the temp at night is in the teens. About two inches of snow on the ground and its supposed to snow more this week. Decided to call it a season. Congrats on the finds...Lance

Yeah....what's the skinny on the lock?

Very nice finds today!!!

Nana ;)

The lock is only about an inch tall and there is a big glob of corrosion on the back.I am going to try to clean it up. It was a big chunk of dirt when I got it home I found out it was a very small lock. :) I guess it would be used for some type of lock box or jewerly box.It will be to froze here before long but I hope I can get a couple of hunts squeezed in somewhere. :)

Nice finds Bman, the eagle button looks to be pre WWI, maybe late 1800s. HH, Mike

There was sopposed to be several Prussian units stationed here in the late 1800s .I was hoppen for older stuff but I still am thrilled to dig any thing with some history! :D

Nice finds - the coins are awesome and I like the trinkets too. Too bad about the winter, it's getting really close to season end here in Rhode Island too, but at least I still have the sandy beaches to hit in the winter if I need a detecting fix! HH!

Very nice finds!! What size range would those coins be in? Neat looking little lock.
Sorry to hear about the frost. Hope the new machine is working out. HH

The coins are, the a little larger then a quarter and the other is about the size of a dime. Both are good tones and around + 25 through +31 on the Excels screen.HH

Nice finds Birdman,
