From what points did they put new sand? Florida East coast

Many of these records can be obtained from Great Lakes Dredging with a little effort. I had a captain on the inside get my info, but he claimed most of it was public if you knew how to ask. I know that they dredged a large trench out in front of the Cabin wreck and pumped it onto the beach near the McClarty museum 6 years ago. I was only inquiring about that one operation, but I got the full GPS data on where they started, where they ended, and where they put the sand. The trench yielded some goodies but nothing shiny. :(

The crew boat for the operation was parked right next to our salvage vessel at Indian River Marina, I befriended the captain and got to play deckhand on a few trips out to the dredge. Later, they nearly lost the dredge head because the retaining cable got damaged and was holding on by just a few strands. I got paid to go out at 3 am and follow the damaged cable down to the head with a new cable and re-attach it so they could retrieve the head.

I bet you were THE most popular fellow at that point...nobody wants to make that kind of call to the boss.

When will these guys learn. Bathtub beach will never be the same after the Hurricanes of 2004. This renourishment project again will just waste the tax payers money. I have watched this beach since 1992 and it washes away with every big storm that passes through... Maybe if they let nature take it's course the beach will fix itself.. Just my 2 cents..

Nature is fixing to take it's course once again. The forecast for Friday/Friday night is 12-16 feet with a 25-30 mph North wind and 4 days of BIG surf. If the forecast comes true, it is going to move some of that expensive sand.
