Cool article.

Crappy hunting situation.

Glad you got out.

DeadBatts! Thanks for sharing the article... good read.

Did I hear, goose poop? I hope you were wearing knee pads at least, you dirty bird.

What was your take for the day?

At least we weren't attacked by geese. None to be seen.
No wonder the ground was so rich and black underneath the dead grass.

My take at the aromatic goose grounds was a bunch of clad dimes and mem cents, a couple jefferson nickels and one lone buffalo nickel which at first I thought had no date. When I got it home I cleaned it with dish soap and water. Under magnification I could barely read 1920 - the 20 was the most legible part.

Total take from two parks was 5 quarters, 8 dimes, 2 jeff nickels one buff nickel, and 14 mem cents before we "pooped out" so to speak. No silver. But it was a fun time and in spite of the light drizzle of rain I would rather have that than a hot sweaty day. The goose grounds would have been a lot less appealing in that case!

In an unrelated story, Mayo and myself found ourselves kneeling in goose poop today chasing clad.

In the rain.

Without gloves.

My batteries died.

Happy Hunting!

What, and you didn't invite me? That's the last time I share a park tear up with you Tim! :laughing7:

Cool article...

DeadBatts...... :hello2:
...as soon as I read that I started rolling. Everyone in the room looked at me like I'm crazy laughing soo hard. Good one!

Hey John! Check it out, first thing I thought about when I pulled this bike multi-tool up was your "litefire-storm" controversy last week over the hoof pick. Or is this a cigar tool? I think this fancy-plain belt buckle dates between 5 and 50 years ago. My heart is blue, the color of cheap boutique bling charms. Somebody played skin the skull and lost, the skull. Not sure if the grad pendant charm says 2008 or 3008. Got to get my glasses fixed.

Did load up on clad. While Mayo was tearing through the concrete dirt fill, I hit the woodchips in the new playground and got some vendoteria currency. Didn't count it up before I tossed it in the holding pen in the cruiser but I'm guessing I got 3-5. That's what they usually give you for disturbing goose poop out of season. So please, make sure your goose poop is seasoned.

That's a Cox mini engine tool ... :icon_thumright:

You know for model gas airplanes ...

To change propellers & glow plugs ...

COOL ~ Nick

Here is a modern one ...

Yep that's what I was thinkin - my Aunts & Uncles all do the model airplain and helicopters - I'm tryin to get them away from all of that and start MD'ng... :tongue3:

Right on Nick. Totally slipped my mind and I must have owned a half-dozen of those things at one time. Line controlled P-40, the green bi-plane, Cessna, etc... The wonders of the .049 engine. I'd buy them at garage sales, pick them out of garbage or use some paper route money to pick one up now and then if they were on sale.

Most all of mine had their tails straightened out, then lost their lines, then got launched off the top of the high-rise apartment building towards downtown Elgin, usually with a mouse or rat on-board. Few made it past the street and woods below. But once in a while, with good winds, one would make it across the river.

Those brave mouse aviators.

Thanks!

It would take a good half hour to set up for like a 10 second run ...

Gummed up engines and gas lines, the forgotten primer for the average Joe yard-worker/lawn mower operator. The knowledge of the ancients!

Never had one of the cars, I needed things that flew!

You rock, Nick!

Ha! I guess a lot of us played with these! Cool car, Nick!

I had a Navy Skyraider with a third line for throttle control so you could land anytime. Saved on dizzy spells. ;D

Great thread, Tim. Good things do come from paying homage in the goose poop!

What? Are you guys to old to have fun? Here's a pic of mine. It'll do 50mph with a squirrel duct taped to it. HH

Ever tried getting two, one for each foot?

Who? the squirrel or the car. I'll have to work on that.

I'm afraid that I pose a huge suspension problem. HH
