I made this find three or four years ago, long before I ever picked up a detector.? While walking my dogs through the cemetery which dates pre-Civil War, I would stop and look at the dirt pile made from digging graves, hoping to spot an arrowhead.? One day, on top of the pile was what I thought to be a leaf.? I moved the leaf and found that it was metal.? Mental giant that I am, I thought it was a dog's tag.? When I rubbed it and saw that it was a coin, only then did I take my glasses out of my pocket and take a closer look.? When I told some of the older citizens about my find, one lady said that you could always tell who a true friend was, because they would be the ones who would dig a grave in this rocky soil.? So I call this coin my Friendship Barber.

nice, coin, did u ever go back and detect there?

Yes, I did go back and give it a cursory wave with an ACE 250, before my Minelab upgrade. Thought better about being seen inside the cemetery fence with a detector so I decided not to push my luck. Besides, have found quite a few musket balls just outside the fence so I'm happy leaving things as is.
