Hmm...not sure...but SUPER nice! Looks like it aged well and is complete with the clasps intact...very nice..how about another pic with a coin for size reference? Great find, ddf.

Because of the number of prongs, (3), and their position, it was probably attached over a disc that had a leather strap threaded through it. That would make it a 2 piece fit. It may have been a harness or reins piece of horse tack.
I'm surely no expert on horse tack. I think one of our Cowboys will give a more qualified opinion..
Congrats on your find.

I think I'd be camping out in that lot Jimmy, you guys have pulled some nice keepers outta there.

I went out to my friends vacant lot where I found my oldest coin, a 1855 mex reale and I found this any ideas , I thing part of horse bridle? ? Ww1 maybe

It is a Rosette probably from the bridle. Can't tell the size, but harness ones are bigger. They go on the bridle on both sides of the head holding up the brow band. I think U. S. Calvary. There should be pictures if you look them up. Really nice find.

I'm voting with the Rosette people. I have found one like yours with 3 prongs, except the lettering on mine is block and yours is rounded. I was able to identify mine as a WW1 Rosette. I would only assume that yours is also. You will be able to google and research pretty easily.
