A friend of mine, Russel, drove down from Missouri to go on a hunt here with Me. Since I usually drive up to Missouri to hunt with him when I can.
We started off at 8:00 this morning. Either We couldn’t find anyone home, or the yards just weren’t producing. We both got a Wheat, and I got a couple tax tokens and an old key towards the 4:00pm mark. We only had 40 minutes or so left to hunt. I gave in and went back to a home that I had found a Merc in the front strip close to the road but hadn’t finished the rest or the back yard. Knocked on the door & got permission.
We started off with the back yard since We had to go through their house to get to it🤦♂️.
5 minutes into the hunt in the back yard and Russell comes walking over with a closed hand and a grim look on his face.
Yep I’m glad I took him there. I wanted him to find a Silver on his trip out. Silver he did!! An 1894 Barber Half Dollar!!! What a score😁
We finished up the back and went to the front to finish what I hadn’t hunted there. I found a few quarters and copper Pennie’s, then I got a sweet Silver Dime signal. Dug down about 6” and got a Silver thimble!! We both scored today. Beautiful day to be out too!!!
Silver #16fty!!
Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting!!!
