I am getting a little tired of hunting the camp all of the time, so I went out prospecting today in a new FP. After 4hrs this is what I found. The Wheaties are the worst shape that I have found yet, they had metal (rust) stuck to them so maybe there was a 1943 steel penny in the group at one time. Everything was around 4 or 5 inches deep, same as the clad. The chain I thought as cool, I seen small gold chains like this with multi links, but mine is just a chain... When I found the cross I thought for sure it was gonna be a silver dime but I still like it a lot. I also found a pouch full of nails and various other metal scraps that rang up just like a coin. It was actually really frustrating to think a coin is gonna come up only to see a coin size chunk of cut metal staring back at me.

Congrats on breaking out of your routine and finding some neat things! Is the crucifix stamped 925 or sterling? I can't imagine it not being silver with how shiny it is.

No, no silver mark on it, the back has ROMA on it. It has some stains on it though so who knows...

Awesome looking cross Fiend! Harmonica reed to boot! Imagine replacing every playstation in America with a harmonica. There'd be diggins for the next couple generations! Oh wait, everyone recycles these days.

Nice finds, Fiend!!

I'm betting that cross is silver. I found a St. Anthony medal with no marking, but it came up shiny like silver and rings out like a silver dime when I drop it on the counter. That cross is nice!!
