We had several days of rainy weather and the ground was perfect for detecting! Went back to the old place for a bit Friday evening and started out hitting an old coin spill that covered about an 18 inch square area. Results of that were 4 wheats and the silver Roosevelt. Just up the yard a ways was a good dime hit about 6 - 8 inches deep, about 3 inches deeper than the coin spill marked. After removing the plug there in my hole I saw the wreath and the words "ONE DIME". Well, my oldest silver coin to date had been a 1909 Barber Dime so I was hoping I had broke my record. Pulled out the dime and flipped it over... lo and behold 1907! New personal best set but still anxious to break in to that 1800's silver! I've got several pennies and nickels from the 1800's, but no silver!
Oh well. A great evening detecting. Also came away with almost a half buck's worth of clad.
Thanks for looking!
