I've been lucky to get in a couple hours of beach detecting while I'm at a convention in Tampa. Here are my finds, about 5 hours of detecting so far. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1499571163.679535.jpg It is super hot, so hitting the beach from about 9:30 - 11:30 pm is ok as the temp drops to mid 80's when the sun goes down. I have not dug so many screw caps, bottle caps and pull tabs for a long time... They sound so sweet, I just have to dig them all! Ended up deciding to disc the foil range as I was spending too much time on little bits of foil, cans, etc.
Here is the bling.ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1499571477.722170.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1499571488.602650.jpg I'm going to test the chain when I get back to PA with my new acid kit.

Good luck out there!!

Oh, here are some pics of the beach. It's actually really beautiful, and much less trashy after I went through and vacuumed the sand...

One other fun story to share. A woman and her son (European) approached me tonight when I was digging a target near a large beach club. She wanted to know what I was finding and she went into a story about a cheap detector she bought with which she had little luck. She wanted to know how I could tell different metals, depths, and other questions. So I finally pulled my headphone plug out and started swinging for her. First swing quarter signal and her boy dug it, next swing another quarter for her boy to dig and keep. Then she wanted a try and the next swing a dime that she dug and kept. You could see in their eyes that they were totally getting sucked into our addiction, little did she know that she walked up to me when I was just starting to pull coins from a coin spill. I pulled 4 or 5 more, then moved on until the boy came running down the beach to ask me where I bought the detector and the brand. Made my night for sure!

Looks like a very successful 5 hours. Lots of keepers and some Gold.
The story about the mom and her son was great.
Congratulations

Wow! That's a lot of digging! Great story about the kid and his Mom.
Congratulations on the gold!

That is a nice pile of finds. Congrats. I usually use my sand scoop when beach detecting. It makes life much easier. I also dig everything with no discrimination because you never know. I also have got the bottle cap sound figured out, but sometimes it just sounds too good to not dig. The flattened ones are extremely hard to differentiate from real coins.

Great finds and great story! Beautiful beach.

I don't mean to be a buzzkill, but to me the chain looks plated (like the plating had worn off) in that close up picture. Hopefully it's just the lighting, but either way I wish you the best of luck with your acid test!

The clasp with the stamping appears to be plated, and the angel medallion also seems plated, so I'm pretty reserved on the 14k chances. But worth a test as the chain alone has to weigh at least 1/4 oz.

I definitely don't have the bottle and screw cap signals down. Some sound just like a quarter, some a dime, some gold/pulltab zone. Don't really mind as the sand here is fluffy soft and I can use my foot to dig most targets. Plus I'm doing my Civil beach cleanup service!!!!

And Sunday night... total haul for weekend business trip. Yes, lots of digging...ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1499656014.784812.jpg

There is stuff up and down that beach even south going through the other cities but the most is probably going to be around Pier 60.
Most trash but most treasure too.
Crazy stuff goes on around there in the evenings, bands, jugglers, venders selling stuff all along the pier, and if you like regular fishing pay a bit to get out on the end and you can hook into some big fish out there.
I broke the tip of my pole off once on something huge and slow moving night fishing, probably a shark...felt like a Volkswagen.

Also great photo opportunities...especially around sunset.
Here are two I took in that area that are favorites of mine.
