Hello again--
Maybe you read yesterday about how I dug my very first Indian head cent--a 1906 that sort of surprised me. Today, in a different part of town, I returned to a place I had been several times before, and the second coin I dug was.....my 2nd Indian head in....2 and 1/2 years! OR 24 hours, however you want to look at it. This one is very, very green, and it's taking a lot of effort to read the date. The 1, 8, and 9 are clear, but that last digit has been tough. My best guess right now is that it's a 1, so 1891. That makes it my oldest US coin ever. Poor 1906; that one had the record for less than one day! Anyone who knows the best way to get very green cents to display-quality condition, please let me know. No photos, sorry, but it's just a green disc with 189- on it.
Best to all!
Mike
