Sometimes I start off on the sand beech and other times I go straight to the deep end. So I never know where the goodies are going to be.

Today's yields were bleak!

Anybody have any suggestions for those small targets that slip through your scoop? Keep in mind your chest deep in water.

Happy Hunting!

Is that a ring in there? You water hunters have all the fun.

Put an earth magnet in the back of your scoop to catch any of the smaller ferrous pieces that might slip through. For the non ferrous stuff you'd have to have some screen or mesh in the back end of your scoop but it will take a while to drain if you do that. May not be worth the effort just to get a few earring backs or shotgun primers....

Doc Beav is right I had the same problems, A basic scoop is great until that earing falls through. I made a floating platform tied to waist. Heavy duty steel screen mesh with foam and a plywood sandwich. Floats great and sift away and whala...

tnmountians yes that is a ring in there. It's a cheapy stainless. The funny part about it was that camb1 found the other 2 pieces to it further down the beach. It's one of those interlocking rings.

Nov2101 and docbeav thanks for the suggestions on the scoop and screen idea.

Not sure if you could see in the photo but the zipper pull and the .22 shell gave me a run for my money. They both had a great tone but kept slipping through my scoop. My scoop has 1/2 inch holes. I wish they were smaller but more of them.
