Hi DinkyDick, SH, Jason and all,

A friend of mine turned me on to a pretty cool dive site last summer. It turned out to be an old wooden ship that is broken in two and is buried in some deep nasty muck (smellsfoul). After spending quite a few days/weeks digging around it trying to figure out what it was, we're still not sure what it is other than its wooden beamed/planked hull that has metal sheathing on its bow. Next season we're planning on trying to recover a sample of it to see it its iron or copper cladding.

What we were finally able to do however was get a couple of measurements on it and its between 70'- 80' long. After much blood, sweat and tears, as we found a ton of broken glass mixed in the muck, couldn't believe how sharp some of that stuff was as it cut right through our leather coral gloves. Anyhow we finally hit a little paydirt and came up with the following items:

1 - 1775 Mexican Pieces of 8
1 - 1834 Liberty Penny
Multiple pieces of a dinner platter
3 - two prong metal fork with wooden handles
1 - knife blade without a handle
1 - knife w/half a blade and a wooden checkered handle
60 - 80 lbs of old lead sinkers
.50 cal bullets
1 copper hand and a acorn counter weight from a clock
1 old medicine bottle
1 silver comb
1 glass bottle stopper from either a inkwell or perfume bottle
2 Brass clothing hooks
2 Metal stanchion's
