Metal detecting today at the blacksmith shop site. There is an overgrown path that goes down into the estuary and river, where the horses and cows were taken out to graze on the grasses. An old bridge was used mostly gone now, although some parts are still there! Will take photos when the tide goes out, it is only visible only then. Foundation stones are here, near the path, and of course lots of horseshoes and tools used by the blacksmith and all kinds of other things that he made.

Sounds like a fun place to do some detecting. Plus you have earned yourself lots of good luck with all of those horse shoes ( assuming that you hand them up properly...). Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! I have enough to cover a wall now :icon_thumright:

Congratulations on the nice hunt!:occasion14: I love finding old horseshoes.

Keep up the great work! :icon_thumleft:

love the old iron, looks good on a wall too

Good job Ann looks like an awesome place to detect!!!!!

Congrats on the finds! That area looks fairly great for growing some nice Ginseng as I can see some of Ginseng companion plants growing there. Particularly, the Star Grub Root and Sarsaparilla and others.

Thanks! Horseshoes are great to find

Love this place, it seems never ending in finds, always something new to dig up out of the ground.

Thanks! His purse, ha! I have not yet found a single coin in all my detecting..

Ginseng! Never thought of that. Thanks for the suggestion. Monotropoideae grow here.

If the water either side of the bridge is searchable, do that as well....

Nice job on the iron Ann. Horseshoes can make for some great craft projects also.

Nice iron, nice scenery.
