Fresh Lumpia & Lumpia Sauce

FRESH LUMPIA
200 grams lean pork (ground)
200 grams shrimp (peeled, minced)
5 cloves of garlic (minced)
¼ kilo Baguio beans (stringed, julienne)
¼ kilo cabbage (finely shredded)
1 tablespoon atchuete oil
(extracted from atchuete seeds cooked in oil)
1 head fresh lettuce (washed & drained)
2 tablespoons patis (fish sauce)
salt and pepper
2 tablespoons ground nuts
15 pcs. Onion leeks
1 pack Lumpia wrapper

In a pan, heat atchuete oil & saute pork, shrimp & garlic until pork is done.
Add in Baguio beans & cabbage and cook quickly.
Season with patis, salt & pepper.
Drain sauteed mixture & transfer into a bowl.
Add in ground nuts & mix well.


LUMPIA SAUCE
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 cups water
½ cube pork broth
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon black pepper

In a sauce pot, bring 2 cups water to a boil, lower heat and put inpork cube.
Dilute 2 tablespoons cornstarch in 3 tablespoons water
Add in cornstarch, soy sauce, brown sugar and black pepper
Stir well & bring up to a boil until cornstarch is cooked & sauce thickens in consistency

I dearly love Lumpia but have never had it with a sauce (they don't generaly last long enough to dip....lol. I'm going to try it this week!!!!

Just wanted to say that I made up some Lumpia tonight and used your suggestion for the sauce. That is some great stuff!!!!
