Recently found this but don't know what its purpose is. It appears to be silver and I'd guess late 1800s, early 1900s, but what do you guys think? The lettering I can read on it is...

On one side:

Freres de
Ecoles C
Trois - R?
J

The other side has
AT
erite ?


I tried looking online, but there's a lot of info in French. Possible from: Frères des écoles chrétiennes.
Looks to translate something like School of Christian Brothers. Can anyone say for sure?

Anyone ever seen a full one of these? Or guess the age? Thanks for any info you can provide.

I think Trois-Rivieres (in Quebec) fills one small blank.

yep, put the two together, it was a location of some of their schools. I'm thinking a medal of some sort, 1860-1900, but total guessing. here is the translated page:
