I stopped in my local Frenchys (a thrift store in the maritimes in Canada) since they occasionally have gold and silver, and I found out they were just putting out the new jewelry so I waited around. They usually price gold pieces at $20 each and silver pieces at $10 each so I was hoping I would get lucky. And boy did I get lucky. The other gold buyer was in just a few hours before and was going to stop back in to see the jewelry when it was put out but I was there and bought it all. A heavy silver garnet bracelet for $10 that I love. A 22k-24k necklace and pendant with a jade heart for $20, which had a 14k clasp so she thought it was 14k. A 18k gold necklace and earrings for $20 (the smaller daisy set) and a 18k gold larger daisy pendant for $20. A 18k gold necklace with blue and white stones for $20. And a 10k Gold ring for $10. And a set of bracelets that are 14 1/20 gold filled and 925 for $3. I spent $120 on that stuff and a few other items. But the jade and 22-24k necklace weighs 24grams alone and the necklace without the jade pendant weights 14 grams alone! I was so excited this was my first time finding 22-24k gold and my biggest score since last summer.

I would say you got a French kiss for sure! I spend all my time looking for things they miss and you got these and they knew! Amazing

You are right, Fabulous finds. But you now have a big problem. That other gold buyer will have found out by now and will seek revenge. You better buy a big dog and never travel alone. How do I know? Cause that's what I would do...:notworthy:

Haha, I am not too worried about the other gold buyer, we are on good terms, and we discuss our finds often. Even though we are in competition he is very friendly. It is the other women who buy jewelry that scare me, even though they aren't gold buyers, they are fierce!

That's impressive!! Great finds! $120 on a boat load of gold and sterling pretty damn good in my book. Well done!!

Frenchy's sells all gold at $20 a piece no matter the weight?

Most of the time at that Frenchy's, sometimes big chains of sterling silver were priced at $60 though, so I guess it depends on the day. Other Frenchy's price higher or lower depending on their knowledge of gold and jewelry.
