Not an official BSA pin. What does the back look like, what are the dots along the edge - enamel, paint, divots for "jewels"?? What kind of metal?

The bar pin is missing on the back, it was painted and the edge dots are pressed into it so they have a raised dot in the center. The piece is copper. :icon_thumright:

My first thought was as Cru's - a scout-related badge. However, my second thought is that you found just a general vintage fleur de lis pin or a brooch or a part of a watch fob. There were a lot of them around and not only French.

Your second thought is correct. Its a ladies watch chatelette or knobby pin brooch. Its from the Sears mail order era. These pics are from my 1909 Sears Roebuck & Co supply house catalog.

The second pic looks particularly spot on. Dont forget these are artist drawings not photographs.

Excellent research BigC :read2: I believe it can be marked as solved.
