French Medalion

I found this at a 1700s french fort site, however the land has been lived on since 1800s and I do not believe this is period to the fort at all. Still I am curious as to what it is and what year. I have googled medals similar but not exactly like.

Any help would be appreciated, and thank you in advance!

The one you have looks almost if not the exact one. It may just be yours is worn from being in the ground. But the one you have may be slightly different and maybe older.

Yes I did see that one but the distance of the wreath to edge is wrong, the top loop is more raised on mine and the end of the stems on the headpiece are different. your probably right that mine is older, or an original of what those are meant to copy.
