French Fleur-de-lis Wax Seal Fob - Rev War Period??

Looking to see if I can nail down a time period or any other information for this wax seal fob. Found it earlier today on Long Island, NY. It's in pretty rough shape but has the Three Lily's with a Crown above them. Curious if this may have had something to do with the French Military when they arrived on Rhode Island in 1780 and made their way south toward Virginia.

Needs more research but I wouldn't be surprised if it pre-dates 1780. Good find.
