My town has the huge walk in trailer for used electronics. I dropped off a non working junk item and saw these and grabbed them. I know the guys who work there and they have no problem with me browsing. I should check more often. The Fisher works great, love the look of the older amps. The pioneer is a bust not working, has a blown power amp. Prob more trouble than its worth to get it looked at. But now I will go back and drop off the pioneer and check for more stuff.

Nice pick! What is the resale on the Fisher?

Nice pick! What is the resale on the Fisher?

3 completed listings I checked out. One as is no sound sold for $50. the other 2, one sold for $125 and the other for $195 + free shipping

Why bring it back? Even sold for a parts or repair machine I think you will be surprised. Just make sure you put enough shipping price and sell in auction style.

I will look into it, maybe do a local pick up only. This thing would be a pain to ship 35 - 40 lbs.

Very Nice!

I absolutely love the old amps from the 70s. They look and sound better than most of the new stuff out there.

That's a good pioneer amp even if it doesn't work. Listed for parts or repair, I think it will still bring more than the fisher even though it works.

Nice find. Thanks for sharing...

Nice finds for free

I agree. I would think that listing parts from the Pioneer would be profitable.

Paid $2 for my HK 730 at an estate sale a few years ago. Paid a local guy $200 to restore it. Best stereo I ever owned. Plan to head home and blast some music this evening!

Very nice unit you have. What kind of speakers are you using with the HK 730? Klipsch?

Hooked up to my parents' old Advent 2002's that were restored 4 years ago. My vinyl gets played on a Sony LX520 that I also picked up at an estate sale. Cleaned it myself, threw on a new drive belt and a new cart. Works like new!

I used to have a big Sansui rack system that I played once in a while. I finally sold it on ebay. I have a nice set of sansui speakers still though. I'm not using them though. I wish the old amps could be adapted to work with dolby pro logic and work with a remote and modern external components. I would love for that kind of warmth to be in the sound of my home theater. I have a largish yamaha receiver, Bowers and Wilkins right and left speakers, a 1000 watt powered JBL subwoofer, and ElectroVoice rear right and left speakers with a cheap optimus center speaker. That and a big screen 3D tv and everyone loves to watch movies at my place :D!

My setup:
Nice setup, I can tell it sounds great. Great to see you use outer sleeves on the lps. Please tell me that Sabbath is Vertigo.

I wish...

Not pictured are the 2nd set of speakers that are positioned in the corners of the room.

The picture was taken in front of my listening chair. Gotta love Ikea.
