I hope you have a fat wallet because free is far from what it will be. With the given issues in terrorism you may find it difficult if not impossible. Think about terrorists having this as a resource! Your best bet is to hire a pilot and have aerial photos taken. It might not be live but is the closest you will realistically come to what you are looking for.

Here are two FREE sources for high resolution aerial and satellite maps.

The first one is from the BLM system. There are great overlays for ownership, mineral data bases linked to the maps plus the maps. You can cut and paste to get the map image into your computer.

If you want real first class satellite images, in file form, then the next link is what you want.

EarthExplorer

You need to register to download the images but its free as well. If you want detailed multi-layer IR images select the Aster series (these satellites have 15 different sensors). If you want higher resolution select the Landsat series of satellites (these satellites only have seven sensors) this series also has IR sensors. The Aster series is what you use to find minerals.

There are also some declassified DOD satellite images available here but you have to order them and have them mailed to you for a small nominal fee. They are just B/W high resolution images and they don't cover the entire planet while the Aster and Landsat series cover the entire planed.

Hope this helps.
