A simple Google search and a look on Ebay has them listed. If they are authentic I wouldn't handle them much at all I am sure they have numismatic value to someone and the slightest scratch can ruin the value.

Thank you Armymusician,

Now here is where I am puzzled.

1.
Some are gold, some are maybe zinc with a gold foil.
How do we know that without taking a file and scrubbing off the foil (and loosing value in the process?)

2.
Googce / Ebay are the metric places. That means market gives the value. There is not a central
place for "nostalgia" value of coins. But the market is the very place, right?

"Nostalgia" value for coins is problematic, at best. It would mean the most to someone who owned it prior to you. It's a "tree" not worth climbing. You can take them to a coin dealer to "shop" for a price. We do that here a lot.

Take them to a coin shop. Any reputable shop will have tools to tell you the metal content of the coins.
