Here is a frame of blades and points that are made from dark brown or black flint. I figured I would do something different and put together a frame of dark artifacts. The Adena in the middle row, far right was found when I was 12 years old. I was a little faster than my uncle in grabbing it! The artifacts are darker than shown in the pic. The camera flashed and lightened them.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the posts! The two in the top corners are Hopewell points I found in Northern KY. The two in the bottom corners are possibly Kirks or maybe side-notch. They would have been needle-tipped at one time, but were blunted a little by impact or something. I found these lying about 5 feet apart. It seems they were part of a cache. I marked the place and returned later with a shovel and dug around a little. I didn't find much except for broken pieces of the same black flint. I was hoping to have a one-of-a-kind 50 piece caches that you hear of. I'm thinking they were made out of Breathitt Chert possibly. That is the only black flint that I am aware of locally. Of course a lot of materials were brought in from other areas.

I've found a few caches. I found one with 17 Adena blades.. They were buried about 1/2 inch apart. Another with 9 blades. and one with 4. I'll try to get some pictures.

Very nice finds
