fractional currency

Hello all I am looking to purchase some fractional currency and need some advice It looks like a great piece of history but I wanted to know more about it prior to laying down any cash. Any all help would be great

You may wish to pick up a copy of The Official Red Book--A Guide Book of United States Paper Money (Arthur L and Ira S. Friedberg) (ISBN-13-978-079482362-7). The second edition, the one I have, has a good section beginning on page 347 entitled Collecting Fractional Currency.
It gives history, pics and values (from VG-8 to Unc-63).
