So... my wife's father recently was committed to an elderly home, and in delving through his piles of antiques/trash/unknown, I came across these. I am pretty well versed in vintage/antique items, but I don't even know where I would begin with these. Anyone have any clues? They have the remnants of gold gilding on their face, and seem to be of a bone/ soapstone base, or some sort of clay. Maybe a lighter stone.
As devil's advocate, I guess that they are some sort of game pieces that were picked up at a craft market in Mexico or something like that... but I really have no clue.
The two squarish pieces are 32.1 g and 36.8 g , 2 3/4" X 1 5/8" X 3/8" and 2 7/8" X 1 11/16" X 3/16" respectively
The smaller rectangular pieces are 22.9 g and 22.2 g , both about 1 1/8" by 2 7/8"
---------------
Upon looking at them closer while measuring them, the cross-leg repeated design seems to be Indian (dot, not feather ;-)
Thanks for your time... and HAPPY HUNTING!
