Went to my favorite spot for four days. Just got back. I was hoping the storm that blew through the other day would have helped but...I got 1 complete 18th century button, a broken piece of shoe buckle and a thin diameter silver (probably) man's wedding ring, also 18th century. Got about 15 small pieces of ships brass, About $1.50 in clad and 10 pounds of aluminum trash. Got a sinker wad and got pics of this here little guy who was there all four days. owl.JPG He was about 80 feet away, I got him with the telephoto. He was very photogenic. People were falling all over themselves getting a look at the owl. Even tried to help a lady push her Beemer out of the sand (she got a tow truck), Lesson 1, no Beemers on the beach! Got LOTS of pics of the back of his head. I was not very interesting. The cars on the road in the other direction were much more fun.

Cool owl.. any photos of your finds?

I've been out digging. Will try to post some soon.

Here's a couple. I haven't had to time to go thru the "bucket" of trash, mainly aluminum at this time. 18th Century button w shank and piece of 1" wide brass/copper strapping for a small chest.button.jpgshipsbrass.jpg

Here's the ring. The ocean has taken most of the diameter away.ring.jpg

Cool finds.. I like that flat button.
Thanks for posting.
I found a bronze ring on a shipwreck beach adjacent to a 1715 wreck...the ocean takes it's toll.
Is the ring silver?
