Hose nozzle? What does the insides of the ends look like?

How long is it? If brass, its looks like a smooth bore nozzle from a fire hose. But looks rather small for that.

Yep, 1920's brass firehose nozzle. Interesting, I guess the old farm house I dug it at must have caught fire at some point or other. Thanks!

You used to see these in old buildings instead of a self contained fire extinguisher. A rolled up fire hose with a nozzle like that hanging on the wall.

We had them in grade school.

Shine it up with a soft wire wheel, I bet it will look nice.

Could be a home fire hose nozzle, and just as likely a garden hose nozzle. I would not hit it with a soft wire wheel, doing so will ruin any antique value it may have and since they were cast pretty smooth, the finish will never be the same again.

Maybe...a soft bristled tooth brush, and some mild soap and warm water and a soft rag. PLEASE...dont take a wire wheel to it...that reminds me of them dudes on Rick's Restoration just GRINDING and POLISHING that beautiful patina off those beautiful, old brass, bronze, pewter and aluminum antique parts and pieces. And then the customer comes to pick it up and is like "OMG THATS AWESOME..."Sure it is nice and shiny and looks good, but to a real historian/collector the real beauty is that natural, soft patina that lets the age, beauty and the history through. VERY nice piece!! thx ddf
