Found while Metal Detecting (Is it worth anything?)

We found this 1943 dime the other day. My dad thinks this may be silver. What is your feed back on it and is it worth anything.

Your dad is 90% correct because it is 90% silver and 10% copper (copper is added to add "strength" to the coin) -- so you have $1.20 in scrap silver - here's a good site to look up older coins

Most US dimes, quarters, and half dollars pre-1965 (for the most part) will have some amount of silver in it.

That is a silver dime. I like the Mercury dime design the best of modern coinage. Price is $1.15 to $1.20 to a dealer, depending on the spot price of silver on any given day.
