Found while hunting, modern or native pottery?

Found this while arrowhead hunting. Any help on if it’s worth keeping or not? Found in NJ. I can’t find records of painted pottery types from around here, but I’m hoping a pottery expert can help me out

It appears to be flat or Is it curved? It doesn't appear to have any temper. Does it have a shiny finish on either side? If so, modern. Possibly a tile based on what I see.

No shiny finish on either side, just an unfinished porous material that I assume is clay, but it does seem pretty flat
 

You are pretty spot on Terry. My guess is a floor Tile with mastic as the adhesive that seems to follow the
curved path of the Square Notched Trowel...:tongue3:

Thanks. Yes, that pattern looks like a notched trowel raked across there.
