Found while digging bottles. 1930's

Found this while digging in a 1930's area dump. It looks like part of a lamp or something? It has threads where something can be screwed into it. Here are pics of the top, bottom, and the threads on the top.

Looks like a desk lamp base with a paperclip/rubber band/doodad holder
