My son and I went out for a few hours. The spot we were detecting was so full of trash that I had to search for a while just to find a place to ground balance. We dug a five gallon bucket full of cans iron and other trash. Not much of it left but at least I know I'm looking in the right spot. I never knew they were so heavy, this thing feels like its made of lead. It was only 2 inches deep.

now this isn't mine, it was a homeowners that gave me permission, its lead backed and was
super heavy, how about how aggressive this guy got on his, I would've never cleaned it so
much, hardly looks dug!

Thanks CJON, All that lead explains the weight!!!!

Kermit that's the best damn buckle I have seen in a long time, wonder how many different places it has been and who was the last to wear it vanzutphen.

Any buckle, any plate, any condition, any TIME is a great find in my book. Well done.

Much better than Nothing.
As you said your in the right spot.
&
You know exactly where it was dug.
Congratulations

I love it. Keep digging and clearing out the junk that others where to lazy to dig. That is what we are doing with our spot and it is paying off. I hope to find a buckle (in any condition). Keep up the good work.

That's the truth. I used to dig on average 1-2 per year, but it all depends on where you live. Down here in Louisiana, I've dug 1 in 5 years!

Congrats!

Any plate is hard to come by these days, so who cares about its condition - its yours and you can always say you found a neat piece of history!
