I know this story from my past isn't about some cash cache. Instead, this is about what we found when remodeling our house under a stairwell.

About 30 years ago my dad decided to turn the stairwell into the basement into a closet. Until then it had been closed off with paneling which pretty much made it wasted space. Upon removing the paneling as part of the remodeling demolition, he called everyone downstairs to show off what he had found. A wind up victrola console with a box full of old parrafin record albums and spare parts, all in fantastic condition. No known reason why it was down there, no known indication of who bought it or how much. We had all thought the basement was finished when the house was built?? Apparently not. As far as I know, he still has it in his bedroom and has the albums in storage. The picture is of the same model.

That would be a most excellent find.

Basement is a great place to look for treasures. Merry Christmas to all.
