✅ SOLVED Found today,Star with curious markings?

Hello, I found this a few hours ago and decided to go ahead and post some photo's. It's got some curious markings on the back. My mother sent me a photo of a medal of honor and I have to admit the shape is similar. I can make out a shield on the reverse in the center surrounded by several designs. Other than washing off the dirt I haven't attempted to clean it in any way. Fishing for ideas. Unable to locate my tape measure off hand, its at work. I can post specific measurements if needed. Its around 2 inches long.
