Found these Rocks? At an 1800s house that I hunt frequently, I never fail to pull at least one coin, even though its getting hunted out. Anyway, found these rocks, normally I wouldn't post rocks but they ring up at a solid 47. Digging low numbers with the Nokia trying to learn it,and found these 4-6 inches down 5 + feet apart. Don't stick to a fridge magnet, easily breakable at very edge, contains black flecks that look square like mica, small one looks flast and smooth black looks almost melted. I've seen house fire stuff where iron gets melted into dirt, these do not look like that. Anyone needs anymore info ask, i have to know!!!!!

Almost thinking lignite coal, except for the VDI. If it is around a home site, I've run into coal occasionally.

Interesting... do you know whether the house might have been for a blacksmith? Their work areas can provide a lot of interesting relics, and this looks like residue I've seen in smith shop locations. Just a thought...

No black Smith shop that I know of, doesn't look a shy, looks like rock with small black mica particles, one is perfectly smooth but Same color cconsistency. Irk strangest rocks I've ever seen, I thought coal remnants but irk if coal would look like this burned or not. Any rock experts out there?

Damn autocorrect.....
