found today hanger im thinking

hello everyone found this little item today under an apple tree but it looks to me to be some sort of a decorative hanger like would be on a door jamb or a mail box but figured I'd post it on here and see if someone else had a better idea.

Benz is quite right!! They were often used to hold kerosene or oil lamps in the days of yore, there were two used thusly at my grandparents house. Nowadays most folks use them to hold potted plants from what I've seen.

that's what I was leaning on and was doing some searching myself but maybe I was being to exact in my search lol.

but thanks for just easeing my mind guess I can just put it out side and let it weather till the wife throws it away lol.
