Nice haul! Very strange you didn't dig more dime, and zero nickels and pennies. Were you just cherry picking?
Hey Mike, good question, and the answer is YES, and the reason is after 54 years of metal detecting finding over 250,000 coins, and at age 83, it makes sense in a very large area and only 3 to 4 hours to hunt, it is only practical to increase your $ average by eliminating pennies, nickels and dimes, and dig only quarters, halfs, dollars, and most all SILVER items, in an area that is not very old. However on beaches, and very old areas I dig most everything, except iron and zinc Lincolns. Kind Regards, Bill.

Congrats on all those Quarters !

Thanks for the views & comments. Here is my total coins from this one school that I have visited 12 times from 2016 thru 2025 so far:
FOUND: 6 dollar coins, 0 Halfs, 440 quarters, 137 dimes, 11 nickels, 51 pennies, a TOTAL of 645 coins = $130. 76, plus I have found 3 - .925 silver rings worth $20 silver melt value, SO total from this one school is around $150.......not bad for a hobby that we all LOVE......Bill (SPECIAL NOTE: notice the 440 quarters total $110 alone....So that is why I "target" quarters with my metal detector.)
