I have done nothing but wash it off. It is a necklace of some sort made from what looks like small gold coins.
I don't recognize the coins, but they are quite small, not much bigger than a thumbtack head.
All seem to be worn just a little differently.

Any Ideas?

The markings are of course Islamic.

The piece is a traditional necklace (or perhaps a waist belt) worn by a Belly Dancer. Close examination of the individual coin elements shows them to be uniformly punched, and the link elements to be very uniformly made. (suggesting machine manufacture).

Can't really tell from the color if they're bright gold, or faded gold over silver. The soft (almost puffy) look to the wear on the coins suggests that they're cast, or that they're stamped on a well-worn tool.

First impression is that the piece is relatively modern, and perhaps gold plated silver. I'd have to see it up close to be sure.

Honestly you can probably tell more by the heft of it, and the sound of it than anything else.

If it seems light, it's probably base metal.

If it seems heavy, and gives a pleasant ring when jostled, it may be silver.

Teach yourself the feel and sound of silver.

It will become instinctive.

To see what I mean, try this simple exercise.... put a handful of clad change in your pocket. Put your hand in and jostle it around. You'll hear the dull clack of modern coins.

Add a single silver dime to the mix and try it again.

Guarantee you'll hear that dime in the mix.

Thanks. It is actually seems fairly heavy for what it is. Weighs 88 grams according to my scale. (3.1 ounces).
