Found this where I saw a meteorite flash

If you saw the flash it likely hit many, many miles away as they flash at about 40,000 feet with the increasing oxygen in the atmosphere and continue on at an angle until they strike the Earth or burn up.

But it may well be.

Meteorites are usually really smooth iron nickel and have really shallow smooth pits. This looks more like a lava rock.

Kind of looks like a meteorite to me, but I'm certainly no expert. Seen meteorites one time in a museum.
