found this war related?

From the quick reply screen at the bottom of page, just click on the icon that looks like a tree inside a picture frame.
This is the insert image button. From there, you can upload an image from your computer by hitting the "browse" button, finding the picture and clicking "upload file".

Alternatively, you can use the other tab to select an image from a URL. This is hot linking an image already on the internet from another source. Like if you have a photobucket account, for example. You can get the URL address for an image you upload there and enter it here.

Without seeing it - there have been 12 wars in the Colonies/U.S. (more or less) history

Queen Anne's
French & Indian
Revolutionary War
War of 1812
Mexican/American War
Civil War
Spanish-American War
WWI
WWII
Korean War
Vietnam War
Desert Storm

So, maybe 42 war years in 275 years overall. So chances are 85% your find is not war related.

I realize he/she said they found it at a house site, but relics older than 275 years ago could turn up almost anywhere. Having said that, if you go back to about 1640 that's when the Beaver war(S) started and continued until 1701 when the Grande Paix(Great Peace) Treaty was enacted. That's 61 years of conflictS.
One year after Grande Paix, the Queen Anne's war started.
So by adding the beaver warS to your caculations, that would put it at 103 war years in the past 374. Those odds seem a little better.

Appears to be a rusted piece of iron, could you explain why you think it's war related?

More photos from different viewpoints may help ID what you have or not.
