found this unusual piece on farmland looks like a sword/dagger butt any ideas??

Could be. What kind of metal is it? What does the end look like?

Handle to eating/serving utensil. They were made in two pieces and the handle would be filled with sand most often and then the blade,large fork, spoon etc all large by the look of the handle, would be inserted and molten metal poured into the handle to bond the two pieces. That's why when you bu estate silverware you check to see if all the pieces are fitted properly because its not like you have someone at a corner store that fixes that stuff. I've seem them come apart and was stunned to see sand pour out, so i researched the stuff so I'd have some working knowledge.

hi all thanks for your help, this item is very heavy thats what stumpe3d me as its overly heavy for a utensil along the same weight as lead?
