This rock weighs about 50 lbs and I had to carry it to the truck and my tongue was hanging out. Took it home and thinking about busting it. Rock was laying in a branch and looked interesting. Thanks everyone. Coke bottle and rocks 001.JPG

A rock shop may be able to tell you what it is. Looks like granite/quartz with gneiss or possibly a metal. Galena? silver? A rock shop can saw a piece of it off with a diamond saw and expose the silver looking area.

Thanks ONE OLD CROW sounds like a good idea but no rock shops in my area as I live out in the boondocks of southwest Virginia.

Looks like quartz with mica running through it to me.
