Found this Relic in the eroded surf line sand bottom on 12/24/15 in knee-high deep water at low tide. The main body looks like lead but is much harder. I'm thinking something like nickle or Silver
because it does not scratch easily. The total weight is 4.1oz, so it has some heft to it.
The main body measures 1-1/2"h x 1-1/4"w x 5/8"d. The iron rods that extend out from the body seem to be harder type steel because it does not bend easily. They measure 10"h from the top of the body. Then 7"w passing through the body. They were probably about 1/4" diameter originally.
The find was found in two parts close together and all was heavily encrusted with about 3/8" to 1/2" of sea-minerals. The body was mold poured since it has a visible mold line around the outside edge. It does have a bit of design to it so it must have been decorative for something.
Any suggestions of what it may be would be welcomed,
Jerry
