Hi found some unusual rocks on the beach today in the rocks on the shallow water. I have brought them home and smashed the smallest ones due to wondering what the inside is like they are some type of metal all the way through
Are they magnetic?
Did you use a detector and if so what brand and what reading.
It is hard to see what you see in a photo but you should give as much detail as possible. HH
Hi, no I was just looking in the rockery for shells starfish etc with my children, that's when I noticed them they where only in that one small patch of rockery. They seemed to good a dull gold colour they are stone one side and that metal on the other that is why i broke the small ones open to see what inside was like. To open them I put one at a time in a old pillow case wrapped them up and used a 4lb mash hammer. I'm new to this site and to finding things these just made me really curious. Would there be a better way for photos to help you see more?
Interesting find. Photos are always hard to see things you see with your eyes and lighting, turning them around. Just wondering. Some pieces do have a coal look. funny those were in just one area. Keep going.
I agree on that one photo being slag also. Finderskeepers11 if you were asking what "slag" is, I'm not a professional but it's basically the leftovers, the waste, that's left after smelting a metal of some type. Someone else may have a better definition.
