Beat me by a few second Taz! ;D
Though I haven't found your particular version yet... All of the ones that i've looked at that are similar to yours, which depict Prince Rudolf on the front and the Royal Palace on the back are commemorative medals from the Budapest 1885 Hungarian National Memorial Exibition. This is probably what you have a version of. Can you read the wrting in the banner of the reverse and spell it out?

Check green please!
I wasn't logged in looking at this so I didn't see the responses.
I've just spent an hour translating from hungarian to english to find out what this is... an I did!

Then I logged in to reply (I was so proud of myself) just to find out this is no more a "whatsit"... :P

Hello degoldn1. Do the same thing you did but do it to the original post and the green check will appear on top. Thanks. :icon_thumright:

I dont know anything more about the medallion that hasnt already been said, sorry. It seems an unusual find. Are there many Hungarians in Washington State?

Im surprised. Here are the instructions to modify. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,259097.0.html
If it wont work we will have to ask a moderator for assistance or to fix the glitch. Thanks for trying.

Good old ebay, guess I should have looked there first. Don't know how realistic that price is though. Maybe $50 IMHO.
Like I said don't believe the worth of something just because someone is trying to sell it for a certain price. Take it or leave it, I don't care.

Thank You diggummup for your dedication and research, your knowledge is appreciated. I don't believe the internet asking price as a realistic price, but their asking $$$ is based on other info. and condition. But it helps to find the info we are looking for and I posted the gild for fun and for research. I've been treasure hunting since 1989 and we need people like you and all the other treasure hunters out their to keep history alive. Many thanks to all!
