Found this in a book

I've never seen that, but thanks for posting. My mom always used to talk about her years as a telephone switchboard operator. ...She is now in a nursing home with advanced Alzheimer's/dementia. So she's probably re-living this stuff in her mind nearly every day.

I have a little bit of a theory about many of these cases. This didn't used to be such a huge problem. More and more, it's getting very common. I think a LOT has to do with people no longer using their minds as they get older.

When my mom stopped working (as Dad was making more than enough to support the family by then), her world seemed to be made up of game shows, talk shows and soap operas. She got to where she would sit in front of the idiot box until just minutes before Dad got home, then she'd scramble to make it look like she'd been busy all day. It's when she became so closely linked with that false TV world that I first started seeing little bits of what I see a LOT of now!

I know for me, after injuring my neck and not being able to work, my mind doesn't work nearly as well as it used to. Signing up with Tnet has been one of the best things I could do from here. Also, have heard lots of others that have said the same thing -- that people need to work their minds to keep them working! Granted, sometimes the synaptic connections will just simply break down. But I honestly think a lot of the so-called Alzheimer's in the world today is due to not using the mind and constantly pushing its boundaries.

I agree, if my grandma has caffeine she gets crazy (more then already) because well I think the mind starts to try to fire again.

Anyone seen these

Wow, that is really cool.

When you say that you found it in a book, was it an Article, and if so what book was it and what was the date. If not was it like a brochure or something that just feel out.

I've never seen that particular one, but there were similar cards and posters made for pretty much everything imaginable.... I like them, they really tell the story of the time.
