Ok found this, my guess sometime of military award or medal. Found in a park that dates to 1902
Thanks for looking and would appreciate any info or leads from the experts here

Dang. It DOES if it's that big. If it's smaller (like an inch or two) reminds me of something Masonic . . .

I can't tell the scale. It might be the top of a military medal. Reminds me of sharp shooter because of the Maltese cross. GL&HH.

yes it's about 2 inches wide by 3/8"

looks like it could possibly be some kind of hat pin to me, I picture it just above the brim of a military uniform hat.
